At the next BIA NSW Interagency Meeting, to be held on March 17th at Parramatta, guest speaker Narelle Dutton from Breakthru Employment Solutions will be presenting on on the Disability Employment Network, the issues faced by individuals with ABI when dealing with a DEN provider, as well as key changes that have been recently introduced (Disability Employment Services program comes into force from 1st March) and what this means for job seekers. Research Study - Disability Participation & Non Participation in Sport and Active Recreation The University of Technology Sydney in conjunction with the Australian Sports Commission is conducting a survey on the sport and active recreation of people with disabilities. Australians love sport and active recreation, but research has shown that people with disabilities participate less than the rest of the community. The findings will be used to review current approaches to sport and recreation and to improve access provisions.
The ‘Fair go for People with a Disability Lobby Group’ was established with the support of Disability South West Inc. to work as a voice for people with a disability in our community. The lobby Group is for all
Researchers at University of NSW are looking for individuals with an acquired brain injury to be participants in a social skills research project. Attendance would be required about 10 times over 10 to 12 weeks, during the day on Tuesdays.
